Educational apiary and allergy-friendly garden 'Op 't Sonnis' (K.I.E.B.S. vzw)
In the 'Op ’t Sonnis' apiary you can see both honey bees and wild bees at work.
You can follow the processing of the honey at close hand. In addition, in the botanic garden you can admire all manner of allergy-friendly trees, plants and shrubs. Here you can acquire unique experience in the laying out of a colourful, fragrant hypoallergenic garden!
The 'Op ’t Sonnis' apiary is also the starting point of the delicious walking route 'Beer, milk and honey'!
Opening hours:
From 10 May to 30 August every Wednesday and Saturday evening from 7.30pm to 9pm.
If you are coming with a group, you will have to make a booking and a small contribution of €25 is requested (includes coffee).
't Watersweierke fertilisation station
This fertilisation station is located in perhaps the quietest spot in the community.
It can be reached via Europarklaan – (road between the earth moving company Swinnen and Alpagro Plastics) – follow this road and then turn left.
Opening hours:
The station can be accessed , every Wednesday and Saturday from June until 15 August, between 7pm and 9.30pm. It is nessesary to make an arrangement.
